šŸ˜” What The Ref?

by Clint Durrett | January 24, 2019

Weā€™re going through it with you, Who Dat Nation. On Sunday, it was complete denial. Then quick to rage. We want to ring the NFL commish, wanting some kind of bargain. We can sulk, but itā€™s a new weekend. A new dawn. We know in our hearts the true outcome had the refs not been living in the fictitious world of ā€œBird Box.ā€ So while we round out the stages of grief, letā€™s look forward to lifting our spirits, drinking those spirits and getting in the Carnival spirit. After all is said and done, at least we didnā€™t blow a 25-point lead in the Super Bowl.

Therapy: Shop! Shop! Shop!

Weā€™re collecting all the ways you can show your eyesight is better than the NFL refs at the game on Sunday. The best way to get over it, is laugh. From voodoo dammit dolls to eye exam shirts, local businesses are raging and offering up ways to let you get it out of your system.

Get your blood pumping

No, not via watching the NFC Championship. Donā€™t clean, get lean. (groan) Itā€™s carnival season and temptation is everywhere. And you donā€™t have to have the strictest diet where you eventually start craving everything in sight including live children. Fill your king cake holes with some better options and fill your eye holes and brain with some information on battling the Carnival gut.

Immerse yourself ā€¦ in theatre

Escape the reality of NFL injustices and escape the imprint of your cheeks from your favorite spot to watch Netflix on your couch by taking in some art. The NOLA Project is inside the Little Gem Saloon with a new production thatā€™ll take your imagination hostage. We (willingly) take a look at ā€œStockholm Syndrome.ā€

Get Exotic

Horse racing is too normal for New Orleans. We need all the crazy and zany and hairy antics of riding an ostrich, camel and a zebra. The Fair Grounds is hosting its exotic animal racing on Saturday. It starts at 12:30 p.m. and only $5 to see this wacky race. The photos have us intrigued.
