While Tropical Storm Barry had other plans for us in July, it’s officially NOW time to brace your buns for the return of the bulls and bats at your backside. The rescheduled Running of the Bulls is happening this weekend. Expect sweat and slurred speech with just a light sting of getting “gored” by a Big Easy Rollergirl. And despite the heat from the sun, or the delicious-as-hell-and-best-spicy-chicken-sandwich-to-grace-our-insides from Popeyes, we have a bountiful offering of places to consider relining your stomachs. So before we show August the door like a Chick-fil-A “chicken sandwich,” here’s what we have cooking for you:
Dear CafĂ© Reconcile – we’re in love
Café Reconcile stands proudly at the heart of the OC Haley Corridor. Walk through the front doors for lunch and be greeted by an incredibly youthful and professional staff member who will escort you right to your seat. But beyond the great food and service, this place has a great mission. Café Reconcile provides job training and life skills training to young people who might otherwise not have the opportunity to develop that expertise. 9 Roses isn’t the only Asian food spot on the West Bank
Actually, the Asian food fair across the river is pretty diverse. Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai, Chinese — whatever your looking to please your palate with, it’s on the West Bank. There’s even a Thai food truck, serving up some of the most delicious pad thai in the city. Click here to take a look at how the East goes to the West… Bank.
Staying COOL-inary
There’s less than two weeks to get your COOLinary on. This month, lots of restaurants have great dining deals, and all of them are under $39 per person (yes, even at Commander’s). We’ve complied a list of the highlights here to help make your lunch and dinner plans easier.
