Welp, I’m sure you heard the news. The stay-at-home mandate continues as is until May 15 (and probably in some other form after that).
Whether that makes you happy, sad, angry or anxious, this seems like a good time for a glass of wine.
Last week we shared the best places in New Orleans for to-go craft beers and cocktails. Today we’re taking a look at which of the city’s wine shops are still operating for curbside take-out or delivery.
Here’s a list of a dozen of our favorite local spots to pick up a bottle of red (or a bottle of white…depending on what kind of mood you’re in tonight).

Brady’s Wine Warehouse

These guys are getting rave reviews on social media for their selection and — most notably — for the speed of their delivery. Customers report receiving their wine at their door within an hour of ordering!

Elio’s Wine Warehouse
Hours: Monday through Saturday; noon until 5 p.m.
Services: Curbside ordering and pick-up; or delivery through Drizly.com

Just off of South Claiborne Avenue, this popular shop suggests checking out their stock on Drizly.com before stopping by. Once you know what’s available, swing by and they’ll meet you at the car to take your order.

Faubourg Wines
Hours: Every day; noon until 7 p.m.

This Marigny wine shop specializes in rare wines from small producers. Because of that, if you haven’t been before, you might be (pleasantly) surprised by their selection. Management suggests giving them a call if this is your first time (even if you have to suffer through a busy signal or two). If you’re familiar with the shop (or just really hate busy signals), use their online order form.

Grand Krewe Fine Wine and Spirits

Here’s another Marigny shop. They’ve got their stock listed on their website for online ordering. Then just pick-up your order curbside. If your order is more than $100, however, and you live in Orleans Parish, they’ll deliver to your home.

The Independent Caveau NOLA
Hours: Thursday through Tuesday; noon until 6 p.m.
Services: Curbside pick-up, with delivery for orders of at least $75. Wines and great food.

This wine shop is near several breweries and distilleries on last week’s list, so stop here, too, and make it a party. When you’re choosing wines for pick-up or delivery, make sure to take a look at their excellent selection of cheeses, charcuteries, and chocolates! Give them a call or follow them on social media to get a glimpse of all they have to offer.

The focus at this CBD shop is creatively curated wine, spirits and specialty foods (lots of specialty foods!). Everything they offer is on their website, as are detailed instructions on how to email them (or call) with your order. Delivers under $100 are charged with a very reasonable $10 fee.

As one of the leading (and longest-operating) wine shops in the city, Martin Wine Cellar has an extensive selection of wine, beer, spirits and food at a wide range of price points. They’ve got one shop Uptown, and another in Metairie. They also have a full deli with great sandwich options.

Next to Nothing Wines

Just off of South Broad Avenue, Next to Nothing Wines’ owner, Steve, is determined to get you the wine you want. If you want his advice, you can talk to him by phone, or you can choose the “pick me something” option on their website. If you know what you want, then you can just go ahead and pick yourself. Fun bottles of wine start as low as $12.

This small Magazine Street wine shop has a loyal Uptown following. Their stock isn’t listed online so consider following them on Instagram for ideas, swinging by their store with a mask on, or calling them for advice on what’s available.

Prytania Wine & Spirits occupies the space that originally housed the first Langenstein’s Grocery Store. So don’t be surprised when you go to place your online order and it reroutes you to the Lagenstein’s website. You’re in the right place, and you might as well order your groceries while you’re at it!

Spirit Wine
