Used Religious Book Hustles Up A Deal For Gentleman’s Club

by Alex Galbraith | August 24, 2018

No one gets out out New Orleans with their soul entirely clean. Even the most devout missionary might learn a few new positions after a stroll down the city’s seedier strips. The sin sort of creeps in, seeping into clothes and hair like so much French Quarter funk.

So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that a local book store found something untoward in a recent trade-in of Karen Armstrong’s indispensable A History Of God. In the section discussing the ways that pagans searched for enlightenment, the Uptown shop owners found a free pass to the Hustler Club.

“Welp, looks like they were seeking yet another way to enlightenment,” the shop quipped on Instagram.

What do you think? Is this the most New Orleans thing you’ve seen all day?
