Home away from home: A day in Mid-City

by Mary Staes | February 12, 2019

If it feels like home, you might be in your house… or you might be in Mid-City! The businesses bring a familiar, welcoming vibe, and as the name states, being in the middle of town offers the perfect spot for everyone to get together and chill.

For lunch, you can either dine in, where they serve the seafood to you in plastic trays like at your favorite crawfish boil, or you can take the food to go and head to nearby Bayou St. John and eat on the banks.

What’s more welcoming than free food for your neighbors? This neighborhood bar does just that, every Monday from 7-8 p.m. On Wednesday nights, you can get in a little socializing with trivia, and brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday starting at 10 a.m. The bar also is the revolving host for different local pop-up kitchens, which they feature on social media.
