For a while, the art of Ashley Longshore felt like a city-wide secret. A terribly kept secret, visible in the Tinder photos and social media posts of countless New Orleanians, but a secret nonetheless. Well, we don’t have to tell you at this point that the secret’s out. From her digs on Magazine Street, the artist has started a world domination tour with all the New York Times write-ups and celebrity-accessorized sightings that entails.

Longshore made the digital pages of People this week. Or, at least her art did. Sarah Jessica Parker, Lizzie Tisch and Kelly Ripa were shown standing in front of Longshore’s signature vibrant and occasionally vulgar (new city slogan?) art. Longshore was on hand for the launch of the Launch LTD X Lizzie Tisch line and was being showcased in a pop-up gallery curated by Tisch herself. The party was also written up by Vogue, who showed the artist posing with Tisch.

Nothing good that’s made here ever stays here for long (we’re as guilty as the next in making that happen) and it looks like we can add Longshore to that list as her art only grows more popular.
