EAT – MOUNT DORA RESTAURANTS
Wave Asian Bistro & Sushi
This unique sushi place in Mt. Dora allows you to eat sushi in a non-intimidating fashion. Wave Asian Bistro & Sushi creates a fun and creative way to enjoy this japanese fare with a bit of a twist. Choose from the sushi crunchwrap, sushi tacos, sushi burritos, sushi donuts and a sushi hot dog. It’s unconventional, yet approachable.
Magical Meat Boutique
Looking for the best fish and chips in Mt. Dora? Head on over to Magical Meat Boutique, where you can find great people, great food, great music and cold beer. This is as close to a real British experience you can get in Mount Dora as you can get 4,000 miles away, everything is authentic.
The Frog and Monkey
This underground pub is a great place to cool off with an adult beverage after riding your mountain bike. The Frog and Monkey also has good eats, such as burgers and sandwiches. If the Frog and Monkey is too tame for you, head upstairs to The Gastrobar, this is the shareable bar where the servings are small for the turkey egg roll, burger sliders and the octopus. You can have three or four meals and still have room for dessert.
PLAY – THINGS TO DO IN MOUNT DORA
CatBoat Adventures
You can’t go to Mount Dora and not go get in the water. Cue CatBoat Adventures, where you get to see the real history of Mt. Dora. This two-hour, fully-narrated guided adventure with actual historians takes you through the famous Dora Canal in a catboat. Safety is important, so there are only four boats to one captain, and you will be trained on operating the catboat prior to the tour. You can see black bears, foxes, otters, snakes, alligators and birds galore.
Adrenaline Bike Works
Adrenaline Bike Works sells everything that you would need to start a new hobby on wheels. The love of cycling and having a shop that was community-focused rather than just a business was the reason this shop was created. There is a track built inside the shop and it’s just a great place to hang out.
