For those who don’t feel like trekking up Magazine or simply want to hit up an event with a seat, comedian Anthony Jeselnik is bringing his caustic and dark brand of observational humor to the Civic. The Comedy Central star is set to roll through New Orleans on his Funny Games tour and is perfect for the type of person who likes to laugh and then immediately feel bad about it.

Alfred Banks at NOMA
No history of modern art can claim to be complete without reckoning with the impact that hip-hop has had on art and design. So it makes a certain sort of sense that the New Orleans Museum of Art is getting into the rap game. The positive and positively local underground rapper behind “Shoot Your Shot” is a perfect pick for the first rap show in the history of NOMA. Banks takes over the City Park museum on Friday night as part of the their Friday Night at NOMA series.

Stripping Away The Years
Honey Tangerine’s annual birthday celebration comes around for an eighth year, bringing together some of the city’s most-loved names in burlesque for a themed variety show. This year, the performers will take a second stab at their first-ever burlesque routine as they remember it. “Feels Like The First Time” will transport audience members and performers alike back to the days when these seasoned acts still got nervous.
