We already know you’re going to be down on Julia Street in your best all-white outfits for White Linen Night (especially after last year’s catastrophic rain-out). But any White Linen old hand knows that the night doesn’t really get started until the afterparties kick off. Come join us at the Contemporary Arts Center’s White Linen Night “Party After Dark.”
Revelers can expect to groove to the sounds of DJ RQ Away, keep the Julia St party going with a cash bar , eat some food from Mid-City pizzeria Echo’s and Metairie’s Banh Mi Boys and play a few rounds in the Stella Artois Summer Game Lounge.
The party costs, but we have the hook-up if you’re looking to keep your night fully free. Simply repost your favorite local artist in New Orleans with the hashtag #whitelinennight, and tag us @Verylocalnola. For chance to win a free ticket to the OFFICIAL CAC WHITE LINEN NIGHT “PARTY AFTER DARK.”
Even if you aren’t planning on sticking around for the afterparties, there’s plenty to lure you down to Julia Street in the early evening. The CAC will be throwing a party at the Auction House Market for folks who are looking to get out of the heat. The “Cool Down Lounge” provides attendees with two free drinks, complimentary food, a place to sit and private restrooms. $50 gets you in and also covers your admission to the afterparty at the CAC proper.
Outside of those two events, Julia Street will be hopping with everything from virtual reality lounges to vehicular showcases. And oh-so-much art. That is technically the point of the whole bash. Along with plenty of other galleries, the CAC will be open to the public before the party to showcase its new exhibition “Constructing the Break,” featuring the work of 29 regional artists.
The best way to stick around for the afterparty with DJ RQ Away, however, is to get in for free. Don’t forget to repost your favorite local artist with the hashtag #whitelinennight and tag us @verylocalnola. Otherwise, tickets are available at the door.
