Mardi Gras needs an overhaul. It is an ecological mini disaster. Useless plastic by the hundreds of tons introduced into the environment and thrown away shortly thereafter serving no useful purpose. The trash people just throw everywhere. Diesel engines and gasoline engines idling away and running for hours and hours. Not to mention the traffic jams, the mediocrity of many troupes and krewes, the extended fuckery caused all over the city for two weeks every year, and all the other crap that comes with Mardi Gras – u/nonaffiliated

Don’t Do It

People who compare the city to a third-world country are annoying and have not been to or know enough about actual undeveloped nations. The city has a lot of problems that need work, but overall, this is a decent place to live compared to many, many other places in the world. We should be more grateful, more present, and enjoy our time while also trying to improve things.
