Maybe you were confused. You were hearing this song everywhere, something about being a cow, but there wasn’t that familiar Triggaman underneath. What was this outside invader and what was it doing in your timeline? While Doja Cat’s “Mooo!” has gone super-viral thanks to its goofy lyrics and hyper-colorful budget video, now it can become a true part of the New Orleans landscape thanks to a well-timed bounce remix.
The geniuses over at Team MFN made it appropriate for bounce busses and DJ sets around the city. Bounce is having a bit of a moment nationwide, with its trademark rhythms showing up in hits from Young Money alums like Drake and Nicki Minaj. And Drake even paid the city back in his own way with his “In My Feelings” music video. But with the frenzy dying down, it’s high time we New Orleans got back to what it does best, putting its own spin on anything it encounters.
Check out the bounce remix up top. And, while you’re at it, be sure to check out the (surprisingly comprehensive) list of best bounce tracks that Rolling Stone put together once “Nice For What” brought the city’s hyper-regional rap to the national stage.
