New Orleans was one of the cities selected for Domino’s pothole-fixing Paving For Pizza program. The city accepted a grant from Domino’s for $5,000 to go toward making the streets a little less bumpy and safer for traveling pizzas.
According to Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s Press Secretary LaTonya Norton, that $5K will make a sizable difference.
“The five thousand dollar grant will stretch the Department of Public Works maintenance budget further to repair approximately 50 potholes,” she said. “As part of the agreement, Domino’s will select the potholes to be filled. The work will take place within the next 30 – 60 days.”
Domino’s did not reveal how many votes came in from the city, but they did describe the response from the city as “overwhelming” in a press release announcing the city’s win.
