We never need a reason to celebrate in New Orleans, but a long weekend for Memorial Day on Monday seems like a great excuse to pull out the pool noodles and grills.

What: Baby Doll Bar Crawl

Where: Starts at Armstrong Park Arch

The Treme/7th Ward Arts & Cultural Festival presents the Baby Doll Bar Crawl. Stops include Bullets Sports Bar, Seal’s Class Act, Kermit’s Mother-In-Law Lounge, Lil People’s Place and the Candlelight Lounge. Where: The Country Club
Price: $20 for nonmembers, free for members

What: A Conversation with Civil Rights Leader Leona Tate
When: 2 – 3 p.m.
Where: French Quarter Visitor Center
Price: Free
Leona Tate was six years old when she walked into a formerly all-white elementary school in 1960, one of four little girls who helped desegregate New Orleans public schools. She has been working to assure civil rights for all ever since. Click here for more information.

What: Bike Easy Second Line
When: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Where: Starts in front of the New Orleans Museum of Art
Price: Free
What’s a Sunday without a second line? You can start early this week with the free Bike Easy Second Line. Anyone can participate, and even the brass band will be on wheels. Click here for more information.
What: Teddy’s Twilight Serenade
When: 7 – 10 p.m.
Where: The Music Box Village
Price: $20 general admission
It’s the last show in the performance season for the Music Box Village! Teddy’s Twilight Serenade is a supper club under the stars, and it’s the first big performance featuring the newest instrument to the collection, “Elevator Pitch,” which highlights voices of the deaf community.
