It’s the height of Spooky Season! Between Voodoo Fest, Boos and Brews and Boo at the Zoo, and we 👏are👏tired, and there’s still four more days till Halloween to go. We’re fresh off the Saints winning and get two whole weeks to hate the 28-3 Failcons (and Alabama, if you’re an LSU fan). At some point while the city was asleep, Tropical Storm Olga blew through, leaving thousands of people without power. So, if you missed out on the news while you boo-zed and snoozed, here’s a breakdown:
Thousands remain without power after Tropical Storm Olga
After Olga rushed through the city Friday night, more than 7,000 buildings were still without power across the state Monday, according to WDSU. Power is also shut off locally to some customers in Lakeview while crews repair damage the storm caused.
Northshore hit hard by Olga
As the week begins, the Northshore is still dealing with the effects of Olga’s wind and rains. CLECO is continuing to remove large trees from power lines and the City of Covington’s garbage and recycling pickup will return to normal this week. S&WB: 100 percent of the drainage pumps are working
For the first time in recent history, the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board says all 99 of its pumps used for drainage are working, according to a tweet from the utility’s social media account Friday. Officials added it was a major milestone for S&WB.

Sleepy Hollow in the Garden | Besthoff Sculpture Garden | 7 p.m. | $15
An outdoor, immersive production of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” featuring Ichabod Crane and the infamous Headless Horseman. It’s all fun and games, until the cast mysteriously starts disappearing during the show. This play is perfect for little ones who aren’t ready for scary movies yet.
Thursday, Oct. 31
Happy Halloween! If you’re still on a sugar high from trick-or-treating with the little ones, the French Quarter is a great place to hangout post-kiddie-bedtime to see some great costumes and feel the festive spirits. The annual French Quarter parade has been canceled, but Molly’s at the Market is planning a limo bar hop. Click here for more information.
